On October 22, 2008 Darla competed at the Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009 pageant representing the state of Ponce.[2] Darla became one of the twenty semi-finalists.
On August 1, 2009 Darla competed at the Miss International Beauty 2009 pageant representing her country Puerto Rico. Darla became one of the final five finalists in which she then placed as the 3rd Runner-up.[3] Darla also placed in second place in the talent competition [4] that was held a couple days prior to the main event.
